Language - we will finish up our unit on adverbs this week.  This language book is  recommended for summer help.   http://www.summerskills.com/

Reading - We will finish reading Charlotte's Web.  We will try and watch the movie sometime this week.

 Advice for the summer - Read!  The fourth grade summer reading book is: The Fabled Fourth Graders of Aesop Elementary School. A copy will be sent home with your child this week.  Please return the book in August. The summer reading program will be on the website later this week.

Science- This week we will spend some time on Simple Machines.

Math - We will do a little review over some concepts we learned this year.  We will also introduce long division.
Advice for the summer - practice multiplication facts. If you are looking for a summer workbook here is one we suggest. Please buy the third grade workbook.  http://www.summerskills.com/

July 7 -11 Math Camp:Ms. Beilharz will lead this camp with a fun, supportive

environment in which campers will work on basic math skills as they

play games, are challenged by brain teasers, and have a chance to cook

with their friends. Students will learn new skills while sharpening

old ones as they have fun with their peers and while they grow academically and gain confidence in their math skills.

Ages:Entering 3rd - 4th grade

Time:9:00am-12:00noon

Price:$145

Field Day is Tuesday!  Here are some notes - we hope we see you at 11:00 to play a few games and have lunch with your child. 

•   In addition to having students wear appropriate shoes, please have students dress in comfortable/appropriate clothing that could potentially get wet during the water relay station. If your child is worried about getting wet then he/she can bring an extra change of clothes.

• Sunscreen: while not all of the stations are outside, the majority of the time will be spent on the field so either packing sunscreen with students to put on or applying it  in the a.m. is recommended.

• Water: There will be a chance for water (and restroom) on the field and by the gym, but in the past we have had some students bring their own water bottle.

•   Parents are invited to join their children for some fun and games on the field from 11-11:30.  Afterwards, students will enjoy their parents, guests, friends, and food as we eat lunch outside.  Parents are encouraged to bring a lunch and blanket and join us for the picnic. We'll wrap up the festivities at noon so we can take advantage of the afternoon for learning purposes and allow the middle school students field access for their Field Day Events.  

 Last day of school field trip - The 3-5 grades will walk to Southmoreland Park on Thursday. We will have a picnic lunch and time to play.  Please send a cold lunch and a drink.  Also, students are allowed to bring things to play with in the park.  Some suggestions: frisbee, soccer ball, jump ropes.  We do not want lacrosse sticks or balls, or bats and balls.  We will take some equipment to have a softball game.  Students are responsible for equipment they take with them. If it rains we will stay at school and have game day.  Students are allowed to bring in board games to play.
