Reading and Social Studies:
Lewis and Clark Unit:
This week we begin reading In Their Own Words, Lewis and Clark by George Sullivan, and will learn
about the Louisiana Purchase. We will have many activities relating to this
book including a colorful map, a song, and a timeline. Students
will be working on a journal of plants and animals that Lewis and Clark see on
their journey and learning about the important individuals that helped Lewis and Clark on their adventure.
Language Arts:
Students will begin writing
their personal narratives this week. They will begin with the brainstorming step and then move on to their rough draft.
In grammar we are working on memorization of six jingles, the sentence, the noun, the verb, the adverb, the adjective, and the article adjective. Students are also learning how to classify/diagram sentences.
