Science Test - Tuesday, September 20.
Classroom News:

Reading (Social Studies) - This week we start our unit on Lewis & Clark.  We will be reading a nonfiction book about this incredible journey.  We will talk about primary and secondary sources regarding studying the past.

Math - We will continue to work on rounding but we will be working on addition.   We will work on adding with regrouping.  Your child has a challenge packet that they should work on when finished with math.  These are word problems that can be quite difficult to solve.  Students are encouraged to read the problem until they understand what the question is.

Science - Tuesday is the test (or celebration of learning) for sound.  The students should have brought home a study guide last week.      

Language - We continue to talk about the type of sentences.  We used the thesaurus last week to do the Star of the Weeks adjectives.  The students did a nice job using this valuable resource.

Other Important News:

• We made cards for Vaughn and will send them to him this week.  We will send a care package every Friday if you would like to add anything. 
• Please make sure your child is dresses appropriately.  We have recess at 10:30 and it can be quite chilly.  

Homework:

Monday - Write missed spelling words three times including Super Challenge Words, Spelling worksheet, Study for Science test, Read 15 minutes
Tuesday - ABC order, Read 15 minutes
Wednesday - Spelling Sentences, Read 15 minutes
Thursday - Study for spelling test, Read 15 minutes
Friday - Enjoy the weekend!
