Classroom News:
Reading - we will finish up The Hundred Dresses this week.  The students have done a nice job with this difficult book.  We have discussed how teasing people is very hurtful to people.  There have been quite a few new vocabularies words introduced throughout this book.

Math - This week we will continue with place value and begin rounding numbers.  Students will be expected to round numbers up to the ten thousands place.

Science - We will culminate our science unit on sound this week. Students will bring home some test review sheets on Thursday. Our unit review will be Monday. Our final test will be Tuesday.

Handwriting - We will begin cursive this week.  This is always exciting for third graders.  We will begin with the simple strokes and then begin letters.

Book order - Please remember to read the letter on the blog regarding ordering book orders online.  You can send an order in to your child's teacher by sending a check and the order form.  Let us know if you don't have any questions.

Reminder about school pictures -

 Pre-orders (either on-line or by returning payment in the envelope that went home) will be due BY their picture day (Sept 13^th for K-8 and Sept. 14^th for T-PK).

They can wait until they see the pictures, but the cost is a bit higher and there are not as many options.

Monday - Write missed spelling words three times including super challenge words, Spelling worksheets, Read 15 minutes
Tuesday - ABC order including challenge words, Read 15 minutes
Wednesday - Spelling sentences, Read 15 minutes
Thursday - Study for spelling test, Read 15 minutes
Friday - Spelling test
* Please remember that homework should always be done in pencil.  If you make it home without a spelling paper, please use printer paper or notebook paper to complete homework.
