Class News:

Rainforest (reading & language)- we continue to work on our research reports.  This week we are writing our food & food chain paragraph.  Each week we research the topic one or two days, then write our notes on a main idea table, then finally write it in paragraph form.  The students will type their paper at school during computer time. We continue to work on our layer paper with paragraphs on each layer of the rainforest.

Math - on Monday we made rainfall graphs on the laptops.  The rest of the week we will be focusing on the basic concepts of division.  We will work on dividing groups evenly along with vocabulary words.

Science -We continue to study the plants of the rainforest and have been creating the leaves for our rainforest layers. We have also been discussing various ways of creating  flowering plants to complete our rainforest. This week we are also studying food chains and how changes in an animals ecosystem can affect not only that animal but many animals survival.

Rainforest Construction - a huge thank you to the following: Courtney Roy, Patti Barnett, Nicole Blanc, Amy Graham, and Elizabeth Delagardelle for helping construct the rainforest last week.  We need a lot of volunteers to get the rainforest completed.  You can come almost anytime during the day except for during chapel.  Also, if you have questions about how to construct your animal at home please feel free to ask.  We don't have any guidelines so you are free to be creative with materials.  We have ideas if you need help.

Remember: Animals are due by Tuesday, February 14 and the Rainforest Open House is Thursday, March 1.
