Classnotes:

Reading - We will begin reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever book this week.  This hilarious book is filled with wonderful vocabulary, characters, and plot development.

Math - Keep practicing those multiplication facts!!! We will start division this week.

Science -We continue to work on sound. We will do a couple sound experiments this week.

Language - The students have been working on an explanatory writing assignment in class.  We will ask each child to give a demonstration speech on their topic.  The speeches will start the week of December 10.  We will assign 4 or 5 students a day to give a speech so you will know exactly which day to have your child prepared.  A rubric will come home next week with the requirements.

Social Studies - During this holiday season we will explore Christmas around the world.  Students will study one or more Christmas traditions from all over the world.

Nutcracker Field Trip - We will go to the Nutcrack on Friday, December 7.  This is your notice that we will be going on a field trip.  The students will return to school after our lunch time so we will have lunch in our classrooms. We will not be able to get a hot lunch that day so if you want your child to have a sack lunch from school then please let Lisa or Gretchen know by Friday, November 30.  Otherwise, your child will need to bring a cold lunch that day.

Typing skills - In January the students will be typing their rainforest research paper.  Here are  typing games  for them to practice at home.  http://www.freetypinggame.net/play.asp
