Class News:

Rainforest - thank you to all the parents who printed off information or sent us links.  All the students had their research!  We start our research this week and we are studying the habitat of our animals.  Every student will have different information from different resources.  We will also start studying the four layers of the rainforest.  We will be writing paragraphs on the four layers and creating and a layer paper.

Math - this week in math we will work on our rainfall graphs.  Each student will make a bar graph with different information they collected.  The third graders did a nice job last week working on long division.  We will continue to work on this concept throughout the quarter.  Keep working on those multiplication facts. 

Science - This week we will talk about some of the ways which humans are destroying the rain forest.



Recess - remember that we will go outside during the winter so have your child bring warm clothing.  Also, we have been so impressed with our soccer and kickball boys since returning from Christmas break. They have been playing together nicely and we haven't heard much arguing.  We have been working on having fun at recess and not being too competitive so we are so proud of their improvements. 

Look for an email this week as we will begin constructing the rainforst.  We need as much parental involvement as possible.
