Monday, January 14 - Bring 2 or 3 internet resources to begin studying rainforest animal (more information below)

Class News:

Rainforest News - PLEASE READ!- On Thursday the third graders will write down 3 animals they would like to become an "expert" on during our rainforest unit.  Please discuss with your child the size animal you are willing to make as a family.  Help guide your child to the appropriate size animal.  Each third grader will be responsible for making a rainfoest animal to display in our rainforest.  Make sure your child has the three names by Thursday morning so they can write them down.  We will be working on this at school this week but we need you to discuss this with your child.  There are several websites on the blog that are good resources.  Your child will be told which animal they will study throughout our rainforest unit on Friday.  We need every third grade student with the help of their parents to find 2 or 3 resources this weekend and bring information to school next Monday.  If you don't have a home computer or printer then please let your child's teacher know. 

Math - We will continue to work on division this week.  We are working on dividing bigger numbers and division with remainders.

Science - We began talking about rain forest plants today. During our rain forest unit we will learn about the layers of the rainforest, vegetation and also food chains for the animal choices. The students were excited to learn we will study chocolate as part of our lessons! :) We will be working on the vines and flowers for the rain forest as well.
