Class News:

*We are finished researching out animals.  The students have worked so hard and we are so proud.  They will work on publishing their research reports this week.  We will also work on our introduction and conclusion paragraphs.

*The students will work on memorizing all the rainforest animals and a fact about each one.  They will have plenty of time to practice before the open house.

*We know that all the visitors can't make it on Tuesday, February 5 to visit our rainforest.  If someone can't make it on the March 5th then please email us and we will arrange a time for the visitor to visit the rainforest and receive a tour by your child.  We are pretty flexible when it comes to having visitors visit the rainforest.

Math - We will finish our unit on fractions this week.  We will apply our knowledge of fractions by using rulers and drawing lines with fractions such as 2 1/2 inches.

Science -We are making some colorful touches for the rain forest as we create flowers this week. We are also finishing up our study of rain forest products. I think we can say, hands down, that chocolate (cacao) is our favorites.

Thank you to Mr. Holewinski and Mr. Brisch for reading to the third graders last week.

Thank you to Mrs. Willis for sharing her knowledge of chocolate with the class and sharing samples.

Our Valentine's Day present to the third graders was an extra recess on the field.  If we have snow this week we would like to play in the snow so please send snow boots or an extra pair of shoes and socks.  A pair of snow pants or an extra pair of pants in case they get wet is a good idea, too.  We want the children to have fun but warm.  Thank you!
