Reading and Social Studies
On Wednesday, October 23 we will have our Pioneer Day. The students will spend the morning doing pioneer activities and then have a pioneer type lunch. We encourage all students to dress as pioneers. We don't expect you to buy a new outfit because usually something at home will work. The boys should wear jeans, boots, cowboy hat, and a plain shirt. The girls can wear a long skirt, apron, bonnet, and a blouse.

Reading and Social Studies
We are completing our Lewis and Clark unit and will now
focus on Westward Expansion. We will discuss the many trails that pioneer
took but will mostly focus on the Oregon Trail. We will begin reading If
I Traveled West in a Covered Wagon this week.
Math
We continue to work on understanding multiplication. We will continue working on arrays and will begin writing a Halloween multiplication story.

We conclude our study of nouns with a look at how to combine sentences with nouns, and abbreviations.
Science
We will continue to examine sounds, loud or soft, different pitches, and learn how musical instruments make sound.
