December's Schedule

Here is a tentative schedule for all the activities in December.

Thursday, December 4 Christmas Program (church)  Please see Tamara's note below.

Attention Parents –
Our Christmas program is right around the corner.  We will celebrate the season together on Thursday evening, December 4th for a 7:00 p.m program.  Students should plan to arrive by 6:40 to meet home room teachers in the undercroft of the church.  Dress is nice, church-type clothing in CHRISTMAS COLORS –any jewel tones you see in Christmas lights are great.  Ladies – dresses or skirts and tops/sweaters, slacks outfits, anything festive and Gentlemen – slacks and a Christmas colored sweater or shirt.  Our final joint rehearsals will be in the church on Tuesday, December 2nd and Wednesday, December 3rd from 8:45-11:00.  Please avoid pulling students out during these rehearsals if at all possible.  We have a very limited schedule to work with all three grade levels and want to have the students feel very prepared!

Friday, December 5 - Book order due.  We will hand this out on Tuesday, November 25.  Please let us know if any of the books are  Christmas presents for your child and we will arrange to give it to you without your child's knowledge.  

Friday, December 5 Read for 2015 

Our 3rd-5th grade READ for 2015 will be Friday, December 5th from 1:10-1:45ish in the second floor commons.  Each child should bring a good book or two and they can also bring a pillow or stuffed animal to lie on, assuming there’s no lice at that time.  After our 2015 seconds of reading (33 minutes and 35 seconds) we’ll have hot cocoa and cookies.   

Monday, December 8 - Thursday, December 18 Musical Offering in Divisional Chapel - Each 3-5 grader is welcome to perform during divisional chapel.  Please sign up with Mrs. Jones beginning Monday, December 1.  We welcome the parents to join us when your child is performing.  In the past we have had piano offerings, drum, guitar, singing, and many other types of musical offerings.  

Tuesday, December 9 - Wednesday, December 17 Family Ornaments - Please bring in a family ornament that you made.  It should have a picture of your family which can also include a pet.  You will hang the ornament on the tree in the commons during chapel and make a wish for our world.  

Lower School Service Project - Monday, December 1 - Tuesday, December 16 Bring in a small inexpensive stocking stuffer to donate to the St. Paul's Food Pantry.  These will be given to children so they have something in their stocking on Christmas morning. 


Thursday, December 11  

Third Graders will go to The Nutcracker.  Third graders should dress nicely to go to The Kauffman Center.  Your child will need to bring a cold lunch or order a cold lunch from the school by Tuesday, November 25.  

Tuesday - Thursday, December  16- 18 Secret Santa - Third graders will be participating in a Secret Santa activity in our classrooms.Please have your child bring 3 small gifts, one for each day for this special activity.  The TOTAL cost of all three gifts should not exceed more that $5.00.
Names will be drawn on December 10 and will be kept a secret until the final day on Thursday, December 20.  Girls will draw from girls’ names and boys will draw from boys’ names. Each class will choose from names in their own class.



Friday, December 19 Eucharist Chapel, Ice skating, Movie, and Christmas party.  Mrs. Jones will be sending an email soon regarding details.  

Christmas Around the World - Social Studies unit during December.  Third graders will study Christmas customs in different countries.  Most of this will be completed at school but your child may need a little bit of help with certain activities.  We will attach the document to an email later today.
