Class News:
Reading & Social Studies - We continue to read  If You Traveled West in a Covered Wagon.  We will also be studying maps about the Oregon Trail.

Math - This week we will be working on multiples and the different properties of multiplication.  Next Tuesday, November 11 there will be a math vocabulary quiz.  The study guide will come home tomorrow with details about the quiz.  The students have been working on most of these words in class so it shouldn't be too difficult.

Science - Third graders are beginning to study the human body unit.  We will focus on the skeletal system.

Book Fair - the Book Fair is this week.  Information is being sent home today regarding the details and also the charge slips.  You can send money with your child or have it charged to the school.  Please send the charge slip back to school so we know how much your child can spend.

Oregon Trail Days is Thursday, November 13. Third graders will spend the morning participating in activities from pioneer days.  We encourage all students to dress of the era but we don't want any stress.  Boys - jeans, plaid shirts, bandannas, hats, boots are appropriate.  Girls - if you don't have an old fashion dress then usually a long skirt, apron, white blouse, bonnet or hat, and boots work together. Please don't stress about the outfit but have some fun.    After we participate in the pioneer activities we will have lunch in the commons.  Parents are invited to lunch.  After lunch the third graders  will  barter with items they bring from home.  More details to follow.

Finally, the Sign Up Genius for the parent led activities and the lunch are below.  The teachers will provide the information for the activities next week.

Homework Challenge - the next Homework Challenge will come home on Wednesday.  It is due Thursday, November 13.  It is a  paper quilt square to go along with our Oregon Trail unit.
