Rainforest News - this week we will study the behavior of our animal.  The students are really working hard on their research papers.  The rainforest looks great and we are almost ready for the animals.  Remember the animals are due next Monday, February 11.  Thank you to all the parents who helped this week with the construction of the rainforest.  Mrs. Barber's class will work on their layer paper this week while Ms. Beilharz's class begins their poetry books.

* Remember to send in addresses asap.  We will be designing invitations and addressing envelopes this week.
* Rainforest Open House is Tuesday, March 5 from 11:30-1:00.
Math - We continue to work on fractions.  This week we will work on finding fractions on a number line, comparing fractions, and putting fractions in order from least to greatest.  We are also working on a rainforest hidden picture.

Science - In science we will discuss flowering plants.  We will learn about the bromeliad and how it is vital to life in the rainforest.

Valentine's Day:
Valentine's Day - third graders will not spend time in the classroom decorating a box.   Third graders can use last year's box.  If you do not have the time to decorate a box then please send a bag with your child's name on it.  Also, it is up to you and your child if you want to make Valentines for both classes or just his/her homeroom.  We ask that you put names on all the Valentines to make it easier to pass out and to make sure you give a Valentine to everyone.
