Classnews:

Reading - We continue to read The Chocolate Touch.  We continue to work on character development, vocabulary, and reading with fluency. This week's spelling words are taken from The Chocolate Touch vocabulary list.

Math - We will start our unit on geometry.  This is an interesting unit with a lot of vocabulary.  On Tuesday your child will bring home a list of vocabulary words for the unit.  There will be a test at the end of the unit.  It is better to learn the words in small chunks so Ms. Beilharz will put the words the class is working on during the week in the blog.  This week we will focus on: point, line, line segment, intersecting lines, parallel lines, ray, angle, vertex, right angle, perpendicular, acute angle and obtuse angle.

Continue to study those multiplication facts.  We will continue testing each week.

Science: We have begun the first of two chapters we will study during our space unit. The first covers the relationship between sun, moon and earth. We will discuss shadows, seasons,constellations and phases of the moon during the next two weeks. We have already discussed the earths daily rotation as well as it's yearly revolution around the sun.


Final Rainforest News: Thank you to Betsy Fountain and Cati Wolf for taking down the rainforest.  Betsy spent quite a bit of time on the ladder taking it down before Spring Break.  Thanks so much for your help.
