Class News:
Standardized Test Practice -  The students will take a practice test with sample questions.  Please remember: we will be taking standardized test next week during the mornings.  Please have your child to school on time!  They also should have a healthy breakfast and can bring a healthy snack for our break time.

Wordly Wise - This week we will start completing one Wordly Wise lesson a week.  The third graders will have a spelling test each week (except next week during standardized testing).  

Reading - We will finish George's Marvelous Medicine this week. The students will create a comic strip of the events of the book.  Some students may finish before other students and will read another Roald Dahl book .

Math - Thanks for your help the last two weeks with the geometry tests.  We will not be taking another test this week.  This week we will continue to work with shapes.  We will focus on combining and separating shapes and making new shapes.

Science: This week we are making a distance model of the solar system, learning what our solar system includes, and learning about individual planets.

Demonstration Speeches- A rubric is coming home today with your child regarding the demonstration speeches.  We will begin the demonstrations the week of April 21.  We are still working on the papers at school and we can't have any homework next week during the week of standardized tests.  So the only option is to start them the week of April 21.  Next week we will draw names to see who goes which day so your child can be prepared. The students can memorize their speeches or use note cards. Let us know if you have any questions.
