Calendar:
Monday, December 8 onwards: Students can bring in a family ornament they have made for the Christmas tree in the commons. Students hang these after chapel, make a wish for the world aloud, and take a candy cane.
Monday, December 8 - Thursday, December 18 Musical Offering in Divisional Chapel - Each 3-5 grader is welcome to perform during divisional chapel. Please sign up with Mrs. Jones beginning Monday, December 1. We welcome the parents to join us when your child is performing. In the past we have had piano offerings, drum, guitar, singing, and many other types of musical offerings.
Tuesday, December 9 - Wednesday, December 17 Lower School Service Project - Bring in a small inexpensive stocking stuffer to donate to the St. Paul's Food Pantry. These will be given to families so that their children have something in their stockings on Christmas morning.

Class News:
Reading - We continue to read The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson. Third graders are creating life size Herdmans that will hang in the commons this week. The students are enjoying this humorous book about a family of children who have never heard the Christmas story before they join the pageant.
Social Studies - The students have been working very hard on their Christmas Crisscross projects. Every student has chosen a country to study and is researching information about Christmas customs in that country. This week we hope to move on to another square.
Math - No Morning Math this week because Ms.Beilharz will be at a conference. We have gone over all of our facts up to 10 and are practicing memorizing them with songs, games, and other rhymes. This week we will work on multiplying three factors. We will start our multiplication facts tests in January.
Science - We will continue studying the human body with some review, and we will be making an arm in two parts if we have enough paper towel holders. Please send them as soon as possible. Thanks to those who have already brought some.
Language - Third graders are learning how to write a persuasive letter to Santa Claus. They each stated something that they wanted and then gave reason why they should get this gift. We are also going over the components of a letter.
Grammar - Prepositions continue to be our main focus this week, and we will continue to apply this knowledge to the sentences we are classifying/diagramming in class.
