RAINFOREST NEWS
This week our focus will be our rainforest poetry books. We will practice giving tours and memorizing the information of each animal in the rainforest. We are also working on our rainforest book list and reading other non fiction rainforest books.

Tuesday, March 3 11:30-1:00 Rainforest Open House-
*We need all parents to bring something to contribute to the Rainforest open House. If you haven't received the Sign up Genius the please contact Kay Gaffney.
*Of course if someone cannot come for the Open House on March 3rd, we can arrange an alternative time for a tour. Also students will have the opportunity to give tours to their younger siblings and cousins.
* We will be giving tours to the other grades this week and next. We make sure that all siblings and cousins get a tour from a family member. If someone is absent during a tour then let us know and we will arrange a special tour.
Math: This week we will work on equivalent fractions and simplying fractions. We will also add and subtract fractions with the same denominator.
Grammar: We will continue to practice diagrammimg/classifying sentences, and reviewing jingles.
Science: There will be a vocabulary test that will involve matching vocabulary words to their definitions on February 25. Students have a review sheet.
This week we are talking about why and how we should save the rainforest, as well as looking at some people whose homes are the rainforest.
