Tuesday, March 3 11:30-1:00 Rainforest Open House
The students are very excited to welcome their guests on Tuesday. In addition to the tour of the forest they will be showing you the work they have been doing over the last few weeks.

* Please make sure all food is at school by 10:30.  We will have tables ready so you can send the food with your child in the morning. *We need all parents to bring something to contribute to the Rainforest Open House. Please see the Sign up Genius or contact Kay Gaffney.

* We are asking third graders to dress nicely on Thursday.  We don't need fancy clothing but a collared shirt for the boys and a pair of nice pants or skirt for the girls is appropriate.  We will watch a movie in the afternoon so they can bring a change of clothes.

* Animals: Please pick up your animal on Wednesday afternoon or during conferences.
Thank you for all that you have done to make this unit such a special one.

*We have created a rainforest album on Shutterfly.com.  We will download all the rainforest pictures here.  We have over 100 pictures on it so far.  Here is the website and password.

Social Studies, Science, Language Arts
Students will conclude Rainforest studies and assignments.

Reading

Students will begin reading The Chocolate Touch  by Patrick Skene Catling.  This is a story about a boy who loves chocolate so much that everything he touches turns to chocolate.

Math - Third graders continue to learn about fractions.  This week we are working on adding and subtracting fractions.  After they add and subtract they are simplifying the answer.
