Class News:

Reading - We continue to read Charlotte's Web.  We will work on reading with inflection, character development, and vocabulary.  This is the last week for Wordly Wise.  

Math - we continue to work on geometry.  This week we will work on area and perimeter.  Wednesday, May 13 will be the geometry test.  Ms. Beilharz will send home a study guide and a list of vocab words this week.  

Science - We will finish with our Solar System Unit this week. Students have learned to use a compass to draw circles, and they are applying this expertise to construct a scale model of the planets.The models help them visualize the enormous differences in size among the actual planets. There will be a test on Thursday. Students were given study guides last Friday.

Language - we continue to work on pronouns.  
In grammar we are learning the conjunction jingle, and classifying sentences for practice.

Social Studies - we will continue to work on the three branches of government.

Book Swap - The 4th annual book swap is Friday.  Students may bring gently used books that are at or above grade level.  Students may bring in as many books as they want but only earn up to 5 credits to get books at the book swap.  Third grade will go on Friday from 12:45-1:05.
